Live Bhakti music for the following classes at Global Breath in Durham, NC:
Open Up Yoga- Tuesdays, 7:30am
Restorative- Sundays, 7pm
Kirtan at Global Breath, first Friday of every month at 7pm
Live Bhakti music is an incredibly powerful, transformative, heart-opening accompaniment to a yoga class. This can work for the full spectrum of asana classes, from vinyasa to restorative.
Kirtan is a traditional form of Bhakti yoga that looks very different from a typical yoga class: people gather, sit and sing beautiful traditional chant together. It’s call-and-response, so beginners are always welcome. Kirtan is not performative or inherently religious- all voices, faith backgrounds and levels of musical ability are welcome.
Katya leads kirtan at Axis Yoga in Denver, CO- upcoming dates to be announced
Katya teaches workshops on harmonium, Sanskrit and Bhakti music to total beginners and more advanced students. She leads these workshops as part of yoga teacher trainings, studio-hosted events and private lessons.
